FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
PACIFIC OCTANE SETS TO EXPLODE VALUE IN .AU DOMAIN VIRTUAL PROPERTY
The industry of virtual real estate property is in full swing and Pacific Octane is at the forefront
Shell Cove, NSW Australia – July 21, 2008 - Three years ago James Wester was dabbling in online marketing, website development and dreaming of owning a Dun & Bradstreet listed company one day. On May 27, 2008, his dream became a reality by starting Pacific Octane Pty Ltd. Developing online property is a passion he had and he shared it with the newly appointed CEO of Pacific Octane Pty Ltd Barry Becarevic. With two similar backgrounds, shared vision and loads of synergy, the executive summary for success was written and the company purchased the virtual real estate, better known as domains, and didn’t hold back.
Pacific Octane Pty Ltd has already acquired over 2,500 domains with approximately 90% of them being .au domains. With the new changes to the AuDA policy regarding the ability to now sell the .au domain, Pacific Octane Pty Ltd is in the forefront of what has been described by many journalists as the “.au domain land grab”. The company’s first case study into the industry market for the .au domain extension is going to be taking place on DomainShed.com.au July 24th. During the case study, they are allowing persons or businesses the opportunity to purchase any of 100 domains that have already been proven winners in the domaining industry as reported by Mr. Ron Jackson of dnjournal.com.
Wester, the newly appointed COO of the company is very optimistic and has came up with this case study to help establish the .au as a Country code top level domain in comparison with the main extensions such as the .com. It will also be used to further invest into the virtual real estate world for future development opportunities that Wester sees as “prime property”. He has been hard at work for 11 months researching and strategising for what is called “domain monetising”. Juggling a new 6 month old daughter during his busy 16 hour work day has been hectic. “I don’t mind the long days because there is no stress and no anxious moments throughout it. Our company will be one of the pace setting leaders in Australia for domain development, investments, marketing and other projects to come.”
He’s taken advice and has rubbed “virtual shoulders” with some of the best known names in the industry. Simon Johnson of domainerincome.com says, “Australia has been a largely untapped market, due to over regulation. Now the rules have been partially relaxed, Pacific Octane is in a great position to capture a large slice of this growing market. As Australians, we now have an opportunity to invest and trade in these assets, just as you would stocks on the ASX. As such I'd encourage everyone to get involved before our virtual real estate ends up in the hands of foreign investors.” Rob Taylor of Hey.co.uk says, “the liberalisation of .AU will not only benefit entrepreneurs such as James from Pacific Octane Pty Ltd, but will allow wider use of previously unused .COM.AU addresses as the current owners can cash in their assets". Comparing .COM.AU to .CO.UK he said, "The similarities are clear, however I see the .AU domain values roughly six years behind comparable .UK's due to usage and other factors. Reflecting on the growth in based on that period, now is a great time to be getting on board .AU”.
